The Revival Project
For the past four years, Ekaya Banaras has been studying old heirloom saris of our patrons for adaptation and revival. The revival project is a private collaboration with each client where we examine old woven heirlooms to help preserve, restore and revive the delicate pieces and the cherished memories they hold.
The project aims at protecting the expressions of weaving culture and developing new varieties that blend the techniques of the esteemed old and the cutting-edge new. With this aim in mind, we have revived and recreated the old motifs and techniques used in the antique pieces which were forgotten in time. The end result is a newly revived version of the old textile which future generations are going to be able to wear.
Ekaya invites all women, of all ages, to be a part of our revival project!
If you have an old damaged heirloom sari, lehenga, or textile piece that you want to restore, please fill in the form below and we would be more than happy to help you recreate it!
